It is believed Liverpool have come in with yet another bid for the Scot just days after a £6.5 million bid was rejected by the Bloomfield Road club but Blackpool are still hopeful of hanging on to the 25-year-old.

It isn’t clear at this stage whether that means a deal with Fulham has collapsed, but he has signed for Forest on a 93-day loan deal – the maximum allowed under league rules for emergency loans.
Ryan Bertrand has returned to Chelsea and Forest are without a recognised left-back.

Today’s Transfer Stories
Stoke striker Tuncay is having a medical at German side Wolfsburg.
Manager Tony Pulis confirmed yesterday that the club had received a bid for the Turkish striker and it now seems likely that the player will sign for Steve McLaren’s side before the transfer window closes.
Tuncay has struggled at Stoke since his £5 million signing from Middlesbrough 18 months ago, scoring just eight goals in 55 games for the Potters.
Aston Villa are hoping to clinch the signing of Michael Bradley from Borussia Moenchengladbach. The USA World Cup star is tipped to head to Villa Park on a loan deal to the end of the season.
Blackpool want Andy Reid of Sunderland – if Charlie Adam quits the club for Liverpool. The two clubs are in talks over a deal for the midfielder after Sunderland signed Sulley Muntari and Stephane Sessegnon over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Sunderland are said to be interested in Blackpool winger David Vaughan.
Sunderland have sent David Healy out on loan to SPL side Rangers while Paraguayan defender Paolo da Silva has moved to La Liga side Zaragoza for an undisclosed fee.
Stephen Ireland is expected to join Newcastle on loan just months after signing for Aston Villa.
Liverpool defender Daniel Ayala looks set to join Championship side Derby County on loan to the end of the season. The 20-year-old Spaniard had a 12-game loan spell at Hull City earlier this season.
Despite reports in today’s papers West Brom are definitely not considering signing Monaco striker Serge Gakpe, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The paper also says that the Baggies’ interest in Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting of Hamburg and Chelsea defender Jeffrey Bruma are also fading away while Roman Bednar’s hopes of moving to Championship side Bristol City have been dashed.
City boss Keith Millen told his club’s official website that any deal to bring Bednar to Ashton Gate won’t take place today though he hinted a move could be made when Bednar’s deal at West Brom expires this summer.
Birmingham are weighing up interest in striker Cameron Jerome. The 24-year-old said at the weekend that he would like to stay at the club unless he was told otherwise. Stoke are said to be interested in doing a deadline-day deal no that Tuncay looks set for Wolfsburg but there have also been a number of other enquiries for the player.
Meanwhile Birmingham are hoping to seal a loan deal for striker Obafemi Martins today while confusion surrounds the future of Nikola Zigic with some reports suggesting that City are in talks about a sale to Racing Santander while others suggest that Alex McLeish wants both Martins and Zigic – perhaps the reason why he is listening to offers for Jerome.

Redknapp Denies Making Bids For Strikers (Though The Chairman May Have Done)
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has denied that he has made bid for any one of a number of strikers – though he suggested that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy may have done so.
Redknapp – who said last week that he chooses the players and Levy does the negotiating – was asked yesterday about Spurs bid for Newcastle striker Andy Carroll on Saturday. It was reported that the Toon had rejected a £23 million bid from Tottenham for the 21-year-old, something that while Redknapp denied doing he suggested that Levy may have put in the bid.
“I never made a bid for Andy Carroll,” he said. “Maybe the chairman did but I never did. Nobody has told me we’ve made a bid.”
Spurs are reported to have had a £38 million bid for Atletico Madrid’s Sergio Aguero (pictured) turned down by the Spanish club. The news comes just a day after a £25 million bid for Athletic Bilbao’s Fernando Llorente and the £23 million bid for Carroll were both similarly turned down. Spurs are also being linked with a £30 million bid today for Villareal’s Giuseppe Rossi.
Manager Harry Redknapp is looking to add another striker to his roster and was last week linked with a £9 million bid for Aguero’s team-mate, former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan. That deal failed as Redknapp wasn’t keen to pay the Uruguayan’s £80,000-a-week wages but it seems that while Tottenham appear to be willing to pay the £38 million buy-out clause in the 22-year-old Aguero’s contract it doesn’t oblige Atletico to sell. There is also the problem of the tax to be paid on the buy-out clause which in itself could run into tens of millions of pounds. Atletico’s president insisted last night that Aguero would not be leaving the club.
Redknapp’s response suggests that today would be quiet day for Spurs.
“Fernando Llorente? No chance,” he said. “I’m not going back to Spain any more. Definitely not.”
The bids for Aguero and Llorente potentially put Redknapp up against Real Madrid, who have been linked with summer bids for both players.
Neville Keen On Spurs Move
However, there are still rumours of a deadline day bid for Everton defender Phil Neville. The Daily Mail reports that a second bid was rejected for the 34-year-old on Saturday, though the bid was said to be less than £500,000. Neville is tempted by the prospect of Champions League football and is believed to want Everton to listen to the bid.
Redknapp admits that signing Scott Parker from West Ham is highly unlikely. The Spurs admitted that he “loves” the midfielder but that West Ham are refusing to sell.

Liverpool Looking For Replacements As Torres Deal Edges Closer
Liverpool are hoping to replace Fernando Torres with Newcastle striker Andy Carroll according to a report today. The Reds are also looking to put in an £18 million bid for Aston Villa winger Ashley Young as well as upping their offer for Charlie Adam to at least the £8 million Blackpool are looking for to secure his transfer and may go even higher than that. All of this depends on Fernando Torres’ £50 million transfer to Chelsea going through before the transfer window shuts at 11pm tonight.
Kenny Dalglish is looking to bid £30 million to bring Carroll to Anfield, according to The Sun. Liverpool will also treble the 21-year-old’s wages to £90,000 a week in a bid to secure his signature. Whether Newcastle will accept a bid that is not that much greater than the £23 million offer from Spurs that was turned down over the weekend remains to be seen. Sources at Newcastle were adamant on Saturday that Carroll is not available to anyone at any price.
Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that over the weekend Liverpool were open to the idea of a deal involving the return of Nicolas Anelka to Anfield. The Frenchman is valued at £8 million and could return to the club where he spent a period on loan from French side PSG during the second half of the 2001-02 season.
The paper admits that the chances of Liverpool agreeing an £18 million bid for Ashley Young are remote though it says that Liverpool principal owner John W Henry called his counterpart at Villa Park, Randy Lerner, to enquire about Young’s availability. The 25-year-old shelved discussions about a new contract earlier this season amidst rumours of an impending move, possibly to Spurs.
Meanwhile, ESPNSoccernet reports that Chelsea’s latest bid is one of £35 million plus young striker Daniel Sturridge, valued at £5 million. This followed bids of £28 million and £32 million, according to the website, not the £35 million that was reported on Friday.
Torres spent several hours at Liverpool’s Melwood training camp yesterday. He trained for a while alone but also spent some time in talks with his advisors and representatives from the club.
Chelsea need to sign Torres by midday today in order for him to be available for tomorrow night’s match with Sunderland, although that looks unlikely.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are expected to complete the signing of Luis Suarez from Ajax today. The Uruguayan striker has passed a medical and agreed personal terms at the club.

FA Cup 5th Round Draw
FA Cup fifth round draw
West Ham v Burnley
Notts County or Manchester City v Aston Villa
Stoke City v Brighton
Birmingham City v Sheffield Wednesday
Leyton Orient v Arsenal
Everton or Chelsea v Reading
Manchester United v Crawley Town
Fulham v Bolton or Wigan
Ties to be played on the week ending 19 and 20 February 2010.
Crawley Town, the only non-league side left in the FA Cup, have drawn Premier League leaders Manchester United in the draw for this season’s fifth round.
Crawley became the first non-league side in 17 years to reach the last 16 of the competition after defeating League Two side Torquay United on Saturday and manager Steve Evans claims his side are the only non-league team that could defeat United.
It was just a surreal moment,” he said.
“I suppose if you are Arsene Wenger or Alec McLeish you don’t want that draw – but we did.
“We will approach the tie in a really positive nature.
“The only non-league club capable of beating Manchester United is Crawley Town as we stand today. Miracles do happen.”
Meanwhile, Leyton Orient chairman Barry Hearn says his side are “thrilled” to have drawn Arsenal.
“I’ve been chairman for nearly 16 years and we’ve never had anything like this.
“It’s going to be a fabulous day out. I love the FA Cup.”
