Bull Leaps Into Crowd and Out Of Ring

Forty people have been injured after a bull leapt out of a ring and into the crowd at a bull ring in northern Spain.

The incident happened in the town of Tafalla in the Basque country, where the bull jumped out of the ring and over a security fence. Onlookers fled as the bull rampaged through the stands but 40 people were injured including a man gored in the back as he tried to get out of the way of the bull.

Nine people were taken to hospital at the nearby town of Pamplona, including a 10-year-old boy who was injured after the bull fell on him.

The incident happened just weeks after the Spanish province of Catalonia voted to ban bullfights.

BBC Apologises for Weatherman’s Finger Gesture

Schafernaker Gesture Seen Live On TV

The BBC has apologised after weather forecaster Tomasz Schafernaker was seen making a gesture with his middle finger prior to giving a weather forecast.

Schafernaker was about to give a weather forecast when newsreader Simon McCoy jokingly suggested that the forecast would be “100 per cent accurate.” The director cut to Schafernaker, who was seen giving the gesture towards McCoy, obviously unaware that he was on-air.

“The News Channel presenter in the studio acknowledged a mistake had been made, and we apologise for any offence caused,” a BBC spokesman said.

“Tomasz was not aware that he was on air, and whilst the gesture was only shown for a second, it was not acceptable.”
